BE WARM

The innovative construction of the double neck system means water flush through the suit is dramatically reduced, keeping you warmer for longer. The inner Hydrolock neck seal sits in lower profile to the outer neck seal, allowing two seals to be created against the skin. The back zip is a Blackout zip, with reshaped teeth pieces that eliminate gaps and stop water running through.

BE ADVENTUROUS

This suit has been tried and tested by some of our most adventurous freedivers. The outer panels have been carefully considered to minimise damage when taking the suit on and off, with the more delicate Smoothskin panels kept to a minimum. Combined with durable linings and knee protection, this makes a freedive suit overall more dependable than most so you can get in the water quicker without worry.

BE FREE

A combination of 3mm neoprene on core areas and 2mm in considered spaces, enables this suit to achieve maximum flexibility without sacrificing its thermal properties. The Smoothskin panels on the shoulders and sides of the legs give even more stretch to these areas of the body, letting you move without difficulty through the water.

Tech Spec – RF1

An extremely well-fitted, off the peg freediving wetsuit designed for warm water diving

Optimises durability, warmth, flexibility and ease of use

Spec: Design-led by freedivers
Why: The suit has been designed for all stages of the dive, including fit, form, function and simplicity, maximising warmth and flexibility.

Spec: Patterns created in-house
Why: The unique cut and seamlines placement optimises movement and freedom in the water specific for the male and female forms, with the streamlined design aiding hydrodynamics.

Spec: Lower cut collar and neckline:
Why: The lower cut neckline promotes a feeling of freedom around the neck, reducing pressure around the throat and enabling easy breathing. The seams in this area sit snugly around the natural neckline, creating a non-flush seal without compromising the ease of movement for neck, head and shoulders.

Spec: Hydrolock seal
Why: The additional internal back-up panel is glued and taped internally creating a perfect seal from any water ingress from the zip. This also creates a warmth barrier around the lower back and kidneys.

Spec: Smoothskin ankle and wrist seals
Why: The Smoothskin is more hardwearing than open cell neoprene, protecting the areas during donning and doffing. The cuffs are designed to a mid length that allows folding back when donning the suit, but are long enough to provide a good seal.

Spec: Bodymapped panel placement
Why: The 3mm neoprene body panels give thermal protection to your core areas, whilst the thinner 2mm neoprene is used in areas like the gussets and ankle seals where you need more stretch.

Spec: Glideskin panelling zones
Why: The outer collar, shoulder panel and side stripe are all Glideskin, for ultimate streamlining and freedom of movement through the water.

Spec: Strategic use of innovative materials
Why: Neospan superstretch outer is used in areas where extensive movement is required, such as under the arms, the sleeves and the lower legs, but also provides durability. The internal lining is a mixture of G7-Flex which provides excellent thermal protection to the core panels and Extend superstretch to maximise flexibility whilst retaining warmth.

Spec: Mesh skin back panel
Why: The Mesh skin lining on the back chest panel is often found on performance surf suits and is used here to reduce the wind chill and to attract the sun’s heat whilst at the surface of the water.

GLIDESKIN

You’ll find Glideskin panels on the outside of the garment. Glideskin has a hydrophilic coating on top of the smooth surface. The coating applied to the Glideskin makes it easy to glide through the water due to low friction.

SMOOTHSKIN

The panels on the inside of the RF1 suit at the ankle, wrist and neck seals are made with Smoothskin. Smoothskin has no coating and takes on a ‘sticky’ property once wet, creating a great seal between itself and the diver’s skin.
