Outdoor Swimming

Whether its the ocean, a lake, a river or pool, outdoor swimming provides us with an instant connection to nature wherever we are in the world.

Swimmers Staples

Some of our most popular pieces for swimmers

Storm Poncho
Storm Poncho

A changing room isn’t always to hand when you’re in the great outdoors. The Storm Poncho is roomy enough for you to get undressed inside, maintaining your modesty, and will keep you dry and warm whilst you do so. The soft fleece lining of this garment is made with recycled plastic bottles.

Surface Wetsuit, yulex
Surface

Made from YulexTM Pure 100% natural rubber, the Surface is an option for those looking for a more sustainable swimming wetsuit. The recycled plush lining and chest-zip entry for minimal water ingress, combine to keep you warmer and swimming longer.

Oceanic Swimsuit

If you’re doing some serious swimming, it’s important your suit stays in place. The Oceanic is made for active women with double thickness, crossover chest panels to keep you secure and feels comfortable when worn under a wetsuit.

Thermocline

A neoprene-free alternative to a traditional wetsuit, made with recycled nylon from post-consumer waste. Neutrally buoyant, lightweight and with a fleece lining that provides the equivalent warmth of 2mm neoprene, this is perfect for travel and tropical diving.

New To Outdoor Swimming?

Here’s how to get started

Find a group
______________

Joining a local community is the best way to stay safe and learn about local spots and meet like-minded individuals. This will give you the confidence you need in the water to find full enjoyment as well as gaining advice on how to become a better swimmer through technique. We recommend visiting Wild Swimming Cornwall, The Outdoor Swimming Society (worldwide) to find a local group. Inland dive sites such as Vobster Quay or Dive In Gildenburgh provide great access and facilities if you’re not by the sea.

Going in alone
______________

Ensure you’ve researched the spot you’d like to swim is safe from elements like strong currents. Oceans, lakes, quarries and rivers can all be great places to find a quiet spot. Especially if you are swimming without a wetsuit, ensure you have the right equipment with you to warm up when you have left the water. A changing poncho can make a big difference, shielding you from wind chill whilst you dry off. Take a hat, warm fleece and a hot drink to warm up from the core.
